EducAid’s Fees - Positive Discipline

At EducAid we do not believe in corporal punishment.

We believe in achieving a working consensus between staff and students and that through positive relationships we can help out students achieve their goal.

We achieve the highest standards of behaviour without

recourse to canes or physical or humiliating punishments.

EducAid’s fees are:

Excellent Attendance [100% attendance and punctuality!]

Excellent Effort [Each individual achieving their own personal best and working as hard as they personally can.]

Excellent Behaviour [cooperation and respect in dealings with staff and students]

These standards are reinforced through various positive measures:

Tutor group retreats where the students are encouraged to identify with their group and to be proud of achieving high standards for their group’s sakes.

Merit cards with which teachers are encouraged to look for opportunities to reward and commend excellence in all its forms.

For those apparently struggling to cooperate, the peer mediators can be asked to intervene and provide counselling and guidance.

When students forget themselves we have a number of strategies.

There is a demerit section on the Merit cards for minor misdemeanours.

For more persistent or serious issues report cards are given.  These are to be seen as something like a visa back into the system.  Cooperation with the report card will result in the peaceful return of the student to the normal school community.  Failure to cooperate will result in permanent exclusion.

Only one student has ever been expelled by this means to date.
